Job Summary
Impact Fire Services seeks a Fire Alarm Designer to design, develop, and draft fire alarm systems on a wide variety of projects. Responsible for permitting and following up on ongoing projects; design NFPA-compliant drawings within allocated hours; prepare as-builts, O&M manuals, and warranties; submit plans for approval and permit acquisition; perform field surveys and coordinate with contractors and other trades; prepare fabrication drawings and material lists for field technicians; ensure AHJ submissions and permit regulations are met. Proficiency with AutoCAD or Revit is required; experience with tenant finish, remodels, ground-up work, elevator modernization, and special projects is preferred. NICET 3 Design certification is a plus. This in-person role is based in Phoenix, AZ, offering apprenticeship pathways and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in fire alarm design
- 3 to 5+ years of fire alarm design experience
- AutoCAD or Revit experience
- Knowledge of NFPA standards
- NICET 3 Design certification is a preference but not required
- Strong technology / computer skills
- Knowledge of Fire Alarm system installation practices
- MUST have experience with code standards for Phoenix, Arizona or State of Arizona
- Drug test and pre-employment background screening required
