Design Engineering Manager

Design Division Manager leads a team of design engineers, drafters, and project managers, oversees structural drawings preparation and coordination for low to mid-rise residential, commercial, and industrial projects, ensures quality and accuracy of construction documents, provides quotes for pricing and project timelines, builds and maintains the design team through hiring, training, and coaching, establishes standard work processes and automates where possible, and is responsible for marketing the department’s services and maintaining client relationships. The role requires reading and interpreting building codes and regulations, strong problem-solving and communication abilities, proficiency with drafting and structural calculation/modeling software (AutoCAD, Enercalc, RetainPro, RISA 2D/3D, etc.), and a track record of delivering projects on time with a focus on customer service. The position supports a hybrid work schedule and is part of a fast-growing design division within a family-owned company that emphasizes a balanced work-life culture.
