Design/Engineering Manager

Job Summary
The Engineering / Design Manager will be responsible for authoring and maintaining a robust Design Management Plan, ensuring technical quality assurance/control processes, and developing effective delivery processes for design deliverables. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams, have a deep understanding of system integration, and be adept at client relationship management. Required qualifications include a professional certification as a Chartered Engineer or Architect, significant experience in managing design commissions, and familiarity with relevant construction contracts. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer or Architect or equivalent
- Demonstrable experience managing design, build and/or operate commissions on multi‐disciplinary projects
- Good knowledge of the fundamental concepts, principles and theories of system integration as applied to multi‐discipline designs
- Good understanding of management processes related to technical integration and associated analytical/investigative approaches
- Infrastructure sector experience in delivering major projects
- Self‐motivated and able to work both independently and within a multi‐discipline team
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with various forms of construction contract, i.e. NEC3 or 4
- Familiar with BIM and understands 3D modelling tools for design and coordination purposes
- Ability to recognize and adapt digital technologies to aid the design process
- Customer focused with excellent client relationship management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills both verbal and written
