Job Summary
Design Engineer V for Meta's AR Product Team focusing on PCB Layout engineering. Lead and manage complex PCB layouts (rigid, rigid-flex, flex) from kick-off through tape-out for product and non-product/test projects. Drive miniaturization within AR designs, collaborating with EE leads, mechanical engineering, TPMs, DFM, SiPi, and supplier teams. Apply electrical engineering principles to power distribution and high-speed/RF circuits, identify risks, and propose practical workflow solutions. Create and modify engineering tool templates, metadata, configuration data, and rules; coordinate design reviews and kick-off meetings to ensure verification using Meta's Design Traveler. Strong emphasis on cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers to achieve high-yield builds and design-for-manufacturability. Must-have expertise includes Cadence Allegro (HDI, rigid-flex), and ability to lead complex board layouts under tight timelines.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in complex PCB Design
- 5+ years of experience using Cadence Allegro PCB Design Tools (version 23.1 or newer)
- Strong understanding of the mechanical aspects of electronics design
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
