Design Engineer

Job Summary
Design, develop, and evaluate products, assemblies, systems, or processes from concept through production, making modifications as needed. Research and test design concepts regarding materials, specifications, and equipment while creating documentation for all project phases. Coordinate engineering efforts with internal teams and external customers, distributors, and vendors to initiate new designs and solve problems. Maintain a clean and safe work area following established safety and ergonomic standards while learning and promoting the division's ISO quality management system. Assist with quote processes and provide training on new or existing products. Entry-level engineers with a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering and a preferred internship are expected to apply design theory, analyze problems, and communicate effectively with leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors' degree or Master's degree in engineering field
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to apply design theory and methodology
- High level of customer service skills
- Well-developed problem analysis and problem solving techniques
- Proficiency with a computer, including use of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Team player who is self-motivated, and has ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff
- Travel may be necessary, based on position
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of an internship in related field
- Knowledge of manufacturing techniques
- Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the division's quality management system in accordance with ISO standards
