Job Summary
Design Engineer – Skids is responsible for the design, integration, and release of skid-mounted systems from concept through production release, ensuring structural soundness, manufacturability, full documentation, and alignment with customer requirements and MXS standards. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering and external resources to set standards for NPI, ECR processes, and design-for-manufacturing initiatives. Responsibilities include developing 3D assembly models, managing revisions and engineering packages, coordinating with third-party engineers, leading layout integration of structural, electrical, conduit, piping, and mechanical components, maintaining engineering drawings and BOMs, conducting technical reviews, supporting production and first article builds, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with internal standards and applicable codes. Preferred skills include CAD proficiency (Autodesk Inventor; SolidWorks), GD&T expertise, multi-disciplinary integration, and strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Civil Engineering, or related engineering discipline
- 5+ years of mechanical or multi-discipline engineering experience
- Experience with skid-mounted systems, industrial equipment, or power conversion systems
- Experience with engineering release and revision control processes
- Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor (or SolidWorks) and CAD platforms
- Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing standards
- Expertise in design-for-manufacturing principles
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
