Job Summary
Design Engineer will support preconstruction design delivery under the Design Manager, coordinating with design-build and P3 project teams. Responsibilities include designing across the design life cycle, performing due diligence and design reviews, monitoring design progress to meet deadlines, mitigating technical risks, collaborating with estimating and construction teams, initiating and coordinating projects, reviewing drawings/submittals, ensuring conformance to standards, and producing reports/presentations for owners, developers, partners, and consultants. Requires a Civil Engineering degree and 3-6 years of related experience; PE preferred and EIT required. Proficiency in CAD (Bentley MicroStation) and MS Office; DBIA and P3/Design-Build experience highly valuable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
- 3-6 years of related work experience
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred; Engineer-in-Training (EIT) required
- CAD familiarity required; Bentley MicroStation preferred
- DBIA certification or knowledge highly valuable
- Knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, and DOT standards; PennDOT regulations desirable
- MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiency
- P3 or Design-Build experience on large projects (> $500M) is highly valuable
- On-site and field experience on civil projects preferred
