Job Summary
Conduct design calculations and optimization for Extra High Voltage power transformers and shunt reactors up to 500 MVA and 200 MVAR respectively. Execute electromagnetic, thermal, dielectric, and mechanical design while adhering to IEC and IEEE international standards. Manage design-for-manufacturing principles and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with testing requirements. Requires minimum 10 years of proven experience in EHV design, proficiency in specialized engineering software, and strong analytical skills.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to perform transformer/reactor design calculations and optimization
- Experience with electromagnetic, thermal, dielectric, and mechanical design
- Familiarity with design software and engineering tools used for transformer and reactor design
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes, testing requirements, and design-for-manufacturing principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and technical documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Proficient in written and spoken English
- Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in the design of power transformers and shunt reactors
- Hands-on experience in the design of: Power transformers up to 500 MVA, 400 kV
- Hands-on experience in the design of: Shunt reactors up to 200 MVAR, 400 kV
- Proven expertise in electrical or mechanical design of EHV transformers and reactors
- Strong knowledge of international standards and design practices, including IEC and IEEE standards
- Bachelor in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering
