Job Summary
Design Engineer in Moog’s Orrville, OH site responsible for the design and development of new hardware for military and commercial vehicles and equipment. Responsibilities include creating engineering calculations and design reports, CAD models and drawings, test procedures, and supporting on-site and off-site qualification tests; interfacing with customers and suppliers to resolve technical issues; collaborating with program management, manufacturing, quality, and other engineering teams to ensure designs satisfy requirements prior to production; development work from concept through detailed design maturation to prototype manufacture and qualification; requires knowledge of hydraulic actuation, electromechanical actuation, and relevant military specifications, with a DoD Secret Security Clearance as a potential requirement. Candidates typically have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline) and 3+ years of experience, plus strong data-driven decision-making and communication skills. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- 3+ years relevant engineering experience
- Strong communication skills to engage with customers and internal teams
- 3D CAD modeling experience
- Practical knowledge of hydraulic system design
- Practical knowledge of mechanical part and system analysis
- Knowledge of GD&T and technical drawing practices
- Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance
