Job Summary
Design Engineer (Mechanical/Industrial) in Houston, TX. Responsible for creating and revising detailed engineering and fabrication drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, supporting the design and development of engineered products for industrial and process applications, performing engineering calculations and technical evaluations, and collaborating with sales, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure designs meet customer specifications and industry standards. Will prepare and maintain technical documentation, assist with troubleshooting production and installation challenges with shop personnel and project stakeholders, review customer specifications, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 1–4 years of manufacturing/fabrication/industrial equipment experience; proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD; strong understanding of engineering drawings and documentation; ASME codes familiarity a plus; advanced MS Office skills. Salary up to $95K DOE with full benefits; onsite in Houston, TX.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 1–4 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, fabrication, industrial equipment, process systems, or related industry
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, and technical documentation
- Familiarity with ASME codes, pressure-containing equipment, piping systems, or industrial products is a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel
