Design Engineer III

Design Engineer III for Airbus Americas, on-site in Wichita, KS, supporting the airline in-service fleet with repairs of aircraft structures. Responsible for creating high-quality, integrated and certified engineering repair solutions for both metallic and non-metallic aircraft structures, collaborating with static stress and F&DT teams to meet airworthiness and customer needs. Duties include reviewing damage reports, developing repair concepts, creating or modifying repair tasks and technical documents (Repair Instructions, Repair Drawings, Technical Communications), and ensuring solutions return the aircraft to airworthiness within defined time scales. Work involves using Airbus computer-based applications to research configurations, communicate issues and solutions clearly, and potentially obtain a technical signatory for repair data. Travel up to 5% domestically and internationally. Required education is a BS in Engineering with emphasis on structural design; six years of design/analysis experience with airframe structures; experience with composite structures and MRB/MRO; strong skills in technical documentation and tools (CATIA V5 or 3DExperience, SRM/NTM/IPC).
