Job Summary
Create and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and design documentation for Ultimate Door products. Develop design changes, execute ECN and ECI tasks, and support prototype builds, testing, and validation activities. Analyze production and field feedback to identify design improvements and documentation gaps. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and cross-functional teams in Ripley, TN to resolve design issues and implement engineering changes. Document requests, issues, and decisions with clear visual and written communication to ensure closed-loop feedback.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience applying engineering principles to product design, problem solving, testing, and manufacturing support
- Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawing creation, preferably using Inventor, Creo, SolidWorks, or similar tools
- Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, material selection, design for manufacturability, and engineering change control
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production environments, product validation, and quality systems
- Excellent technical communication skills with the ability to explain engineering concepts, risks, and recommendations across teams
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, documentation, and follow-through skills
