Job Summary
Design Engineer II, Hardware/Power Electronics responsible for electronic hardware design, documentation, validation and testing, and production/quality support within the Motor Solutions segment. Lead and execute fast-track development and production launches from R&D or product specs, generate key design documentation (CTQ Flowdowns, DFMEAs, design reviews), and design hardware electronics for 3-phase inverter power electronics (115Vac–460Vac, 1A–20A). Tasks include mixed analog/digital circuit simulations for EMI reduction, component selection and reliability assessment, maintaining comprehensive documentation, interfacing with cross-functional teams and contract manufacturers, prototyping circuits, and performing failure analysis with recommendations for continuous improvement. Strong emphasis on collaboration, project coordination, and effective communication across engineering disciplines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics engineering or equivalent
- 3+ years relevant work experience OR Master’s with 2+ years relevant experience
- Experience designing 3 phase inverters for electric machines
- Experience designing mixed analog and digital circuits
- Experience designing switch mode power supplies (buck and flyback configurations) including Active PFC development
- Experience with circuit simulation software
- Experience testing and troubleshooting high voltage electronics up to 650Vdc
- Experience with evaluating reliability of electronic circuits
- Experience with motor control peripherals (ADC, PWM timers, DAC)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
