Job Summary
Support the design of mechanical components and assemblies by translating product requirements into clear technical documentation and 3D models. Maintain the "Product DNA," including BOMs, routers, and work instructions, while executing ECR/ECO processes to ensure all technical data remains current. Provide real-time troubleshooting on the production floor for issues related to materials, tolerances, or assembly, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement manufacturing enhancements focused on quality, efficiency, and cost reduction. Create engineering drawings using GD&T standards and manage design data within PDM systems to ensure strict version control and compliance with AS9100 Quality Management System. This role serves as the technical lead for recreational marine product lines within an AS9100-certified environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- 1–3 years of engineering experience
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and drawing creation
- Strong fundamentals in mechanical design and statics
- GD&T (ASME Y14.5) standards
- PDM systems
- AS9100 Quality Management System
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain)
- Experience with machined, cast, or forged metal components
- Familiarity with marine propulsion hardware (rudders, struts, shafts, or couplings)
- Hands-on experience defining manufacturing routers or work instructions
- Exposure to AS9100 or ISO 9001 environments
