Job Summary

Design new motorhome systems, assemblies, and components using 3D CAD (Creo) while creating detailed engineering drawings, models, and bills of material. Generate and process Engineering Change Orders, apply Design for Manufacturability principles, and develop prototypes for verification testing. Perform root cause analysis on field returns and warranty claims to implement corrective design actions. Collaborate with Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Service teams to resolve build issues, support supplier selection, and ensure compliance with RVIA, DOT, and FMVSS standards. Maintain engineering documentation archives and optimize designs based on production feedback. This role requires a Bachelor's in engineering and 2+ years of design experience, with a primary office environment and occasional site visits.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical or electromechanical design
  • Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and engineering drawing standards (ASME Y14.5)
  • Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, and structural systems as applied to motorhome design
  • Experience with bill of materials (BOM) structuring and revision/change control processes
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Effective cross-functional communication with Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Service teams
  • Familiarity with RVIA and FMVSS standards for motorhome/RV construction
  • Experience with PLM or document control systems
  • Knowledge of composite, fiberglass, or aluminum body construction methods
  • Exposure to FEA or other simulation/analysis tools
  • Project management and prototype build coordination experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience considered
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical or electromechanical design, preferably in RV, automotive, or heavy-vehicle manufacturing
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software
  • Creo experience
  • Familiarity with RVIA and FMVSS standards for motorhome/RV construction
  • Experience with PLM or document control systems
  • Knowledge of composite, fiberglass, or aluminum body construction methods
  • Exposure to FEA or other simulation/analysis tools
  • Project management and prototype build coordination experience
