Job Summary
Civil Design Engineer responsible for planning, design, and execution of civil components for large-scale iron ore mining, beneficiation, pelletization, and downstream steel projects. Lead civil engineering activities, develop and review designs, drawings, and specifications for foundations, structures, roads, and drainage. Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, structural, and environmental teams; prepare schedules, budgets, and resource plans; ensure regulatory and safety compliance; conduct site inspections and risk assessments; produce project documentation including progress and technical reports; mentor junior engineers and collaborate with contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities. Emphasis on project management, cost control, quality assurance, and applying best practices across the project lifecycle; requires experience across the full lifecycle from conceptual design to commissioning and familiarity with environmental and sustainability practices in mining/steel projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
- 7 to 15 years of relevant civil engineering experience in steel/mining/mineral processing
- PMP or equivalent project management certification
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, and BIM/3D modeling tools
- Experience with civil design for foundations, structures, roads, drainage; familiarity with US codes and standards (OSHA, EPA, ACI, ASTM)
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities
