Job Summary
Develop and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks for injection-molded and blow-molded goods, ensuring manufacturability and adherence to design standards. Prepare engineering documentation including BOMs, drawings, and revision histories while supporting tooling and fixture design using CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and 3D printing. Participate in process development projects, statistical process control activities, and equipment acquisition to drive continuous improvement across production and assembly areas. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production issues and implement practical solutions for in-house automation systems. This full-time, in-office role requires Monday-Friday hours with flexibility for evenings and weekends, with salary determined based on qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience with strong technical background)
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling and 2D drawings)
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, machining, sheet metal, and additive manufacturing
- Familiarity with engineering documentation (BOMs, drawings, revisions, GD&T)
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to take a hands-on approach in the shop and on the production floor
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment, contributing across multiple engineering functions
- Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Eagerness to learn new tools, processes, and automation technology
- 0-5 years of experience
- Regularly required to talk and hear
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop and crouch on a regular basis, all day
- Occasionally lift and/or move items over 50 pounds
