Job Summary
Role involves leading a global team in the design of valvetrain components (valves, valve seats, valve guides, rocker arms, rocker shafts, pushrods, and related parts) for diesel, natural gas, and alternative-fuel engines. Responsibilities include technical evaluation of design, reliability, durability, validation cost, and conformance to program requirements; applying New Product Introduction (NPI) processes to conduct FMEAs, formulate validation plans, and complete validation activities; evaluating new products/processes, handling supplier changes, and delivering projects on time and at cost within NTI, NPI, CPI, and NSI programs; and communicating results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units with leadership of supplier collaboration and CPPD. Required to have a degree in mechanical engineering and experience with APQP, FMEA, NPI, NTI, CPI, plus extensive knowledge of valvetrain components and product design for manufacturing, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and provide technical leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in mechanical engineering
- Experience with APQP, FMEA, NPI, NTI, CPI
- Valvetrain component design experience (valves, valve seats, valve guides, rockers, pushrods)
- Ability to lead a global design team
- Strong analytical and CAD skills
- Ability to apply NPI processes and conduct validation activities
- Experience in communicating results to customers and suppliers
