Job Summary
Create and maintain 3D models, detailed engineering drawings, and technical documentation for Fixed Plant products including wear liner packages, chutes, and hoppers. Design and modify mining equipment using reverse engineering activities with field measurements and 3D scan data, while conducting analysis and design validation via simulation tools. Perform product development and continuous improvement initiatives, supporting customer-specific projects through site visits and equipment inspections. Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and sales teams to ensure manufacturability, maintaining engineering records and Bills of Materials within PLM systems. This role supports the design and development of wear products used across North American mining operations, requiring proficiency in Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum two years of experience in mechanical design, product development, reliability engineering or related engineering disciplines
- Experience designing manufactured products within mining, heavy industrial, materials handling, construction equipment or similar industries
- Demonstrated proficiency using Siemens NX for 3D modelling and engineering drafting
- Experience working with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, preferably Siemens Teamcenter
- Experience performing reverse engineering activities using site measurements and/or 3D scan data
- Experience preparing manufacturing drawings, Bills of Materials and engineering change documentation
- Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards and manufacturing processes
- Valid driver's licence
- Ability to travel to customer and manufacturing sites within North America
- Travel is expected to be approximately 10-20% of working time
