Job Summary
Responsible for the design and engineering of automotive exterior components, including body, closures, and liftgate. Collaborate with teams to develop technical specifications for quoting and sourcing, and perform virtual and physical verification testing. Ensure compliance with safety standards and U.S. government regulations while managing supplier resources to deliver wire harness designs that meet cost, timing, and quality targets. Requires automotive OEM experience and a relevant degree, alongside over five years of related engineering experience.
Required Qualifications
- Automotive OEM experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, or a relevant field
- 5+ years of experience in automotive exteriors engineering and relevant automotive assignments, covering all phases of product development (design, test, and launch)
Desired Qualifications
- Strong technical skills and expertise in design and release
- Employing a six-sigma approach to engineering design and problem-solving
- Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field
- Ability to build strong working relationships with individuals at all organizational levels
