Design Engineer

Job Summary
Review customer requirements and document design interconnect products in compliance with stated manufacturing and reliability needs. Develop prototypes, oversee testing and qualification, and ensure adherence to industry performance standards. Partner with Manufacturing to drive cost reduction and quality improvement while resolving customer issues. Check and approve engineering drawings, parts lists, and test sheets, ensuring all ECNs are processed efficiently. Interface with customers and suppliers to maintain satisfaction and stay current with emerging interconnect solutions. This hybrid role in Kent, WA, supports global teams delivering high-performance wire and medical device solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field
- 3+ years of experience in connector and/or cable assembly design and development, or 3+ years of experience in parts design with an understanding of electrical testing and validation
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and design skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across global teams
- Proficiency in 3D modeling tools (e.g., SolidWorks) and Product Data Management systems (e.g., Windchill)
- Proficient in using DFMEA to evaluate and mitigate risks in mechanical assemblies and design analyses
- Must be able to legally work in the United States
- Position requires candidate to be a U.S. person as defined in ITAR, 22 CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien Status) and defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a) (20)
- Candidate must be able to lift 5-10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception
- Role is hybrid for candidates residing in the Seattle area and is based out of our Kent, WA office
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in 3D modeling tools (e.g., SolidWorks) and Product Data Management systems (e.g., Windchill) preferred
