Job Summary
Design Engineer focused on advanced energy applications to design, analyze, and push the boundaries of energy hardware. Drive part design and redesign across energy applications (turbines, heat exchangers, valves, pressure vessels, burners, fuel delivery systems, and balance-of-plant components for nuclear, hydrogen, and conventional power systems). Apply first-principles reasoning to additive manufacturing opportunities, evaluate concepts with materials and tolerances, and collaborate with internal teams and customer engineers to refine concepts, ensure manufacturability, and shape the product roadmap. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and 5+ years in a hands-on engineering role within power generation/energy industries, with onsite in Hawthorne, CA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or closely related technical discipline
- 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience in power generation, oil & gas, nuclear, renewable energy, or closely related advanced energy industry
- Experience designing or analyzing turbomachinery, thermal systems, fluid systems, pressure-bearing hardware, or high-performance structural components
- Systems-level understanding of complex mechanical hardware and how components function within larger assemblies
