Job Summary
Lead electro-mechanical product design and redesign, including part assembly, detailed drawings, prototyping, and testing. Develop part geometry, assembly designs, and drawings for new product development, enhancements, and cost reduction. Generate Engineering Change Notices, Bills of Materials, and parts tracking documentation. Partner with manufacturing facilities to resolve assembly issues, deviation requests, and BOM errors. Participate in Stage-Gate product development meetings and ABS/Lean Transformation activities. Submit testing requests and review functional specifications while collaborating with cross-functional teams. 0–2 years experience; Bachelor's in Engineering. 0–20% travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 0–2 years of applicable engineering experience
- Proficient use of 3D CAD and Microsoft Office
- Proficient in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies and tools, including Standard Work, Time Studies, Cause & Effect, 5 Why Analysis, and DMAIC
- Strong verbal, written, sketching, and engineering drawing communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments
- Understanding of manufacturing methods including stamping, drawing, casting, and extrusion of metals and plastics
- Leadership skills to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Understanding of applicable industry and safety standards
- 0–20% (U.S. and international) travel
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Commercial lighting industry experience
- Knowledge of UL standards and UL testing processes
