Contract Engineer-Design Drafter for Johnson Controls in York, PA, focusing on processing bills of materials and drawings to provide a clear-to-build production release for large commercial air handling units. Responsibilities include preparing part and assembly drawings from sketches or verbal instructions, creating detailed views and orthographic projections, using Inventor CAD to improve productivity, preparing BOMs, ensuring conformance to design codes and standards, providing technical support across Engineering and Production teams, and coordinating with outside vendors and inspectors. Requires independent work, CAD proficiency, and cross-functional collaboration; travel up to 10% for training, facility support, or site visits.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree or equivalent
- 3D modeling experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
- Willingness to work in the office daily
- Experience with sheet metal
- 10 years minimum experience (preferred)
