Job Summary
Generate high-quality shop, fabrication, and assembly drawings using AutoCAD and other CAD tools from architect/engineer sketches, ensuring accuracy and code compliance for metal and glass projects. Produce complete production packages that facilitate manufacturing and installation, while coordinating with project managers, fabricators, and installers to manage revisions and produce material lists. Utilize the Architectural Metals electronic filing system and participate in process improvement initiatives to continuously build knowledge of manufacturing and business processes. Adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures and offer suggestions for improvements in the engineering department.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of Associate's degree in a design or engineering related field
- 1 or more years of experience working within the Architectural or Commercial Construction industry
- Basic understanding of architectural or mechanical drawings and contract documents
- Progressive skill sets in AutoCAD using Architectural Metals AutoCAD Standards and Drawing formats
- Basic mathematical skills in algebra and geometry
- The ability to visualize in 3-D
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to stay focused and manage tasks efficiently while working quickly and accurately
- Willing and able to work additional hours as needed to meet deadlines
- Close attention to detail and ability to set priorities
- AutoCAD (or equivalent) 3D software
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working within the Architectural or Commercial Construction industry
- Experience with computerized configurator
- Experience with CTO Edit (bill of materials generator)
- Experience with Architectural Metals electronic filing system
- Experience with BlueBeam and/or equivalent PDF reader programs
- ERP Software – Epicor
- Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, etc)
- Solid Edge
- Solid Works
- Inventor
