Job Summary
Design Director for fleece at Comfrt, a remote-leading leadership role driving fleece product vision across hoodies, sweatpants, shorts, outerwear, and future fleece categories. Owns category aesthetic, fit, fabric, color, washes, and construction details; leads end-to-end design from concept to production, partnering with Product Development, Technical Design, Sourcing, Merchandising, Marketing, and Creative teams. Responsible for trend research, opportunity identification, and innovation in fleece construction, fabric development, and garment finishes; guides cross-functional teams to deliver commercially successful assortments that reinforce brand DNA and growth. Requires 12-15+ years in apparel design with fleece experience, 5+ years of design leadership, strong product strategy and storytelling capability, and a track record of building high-performing design teams in a fast-paced environment. The role emphasizes strategic design leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a strong focus on customer experience and product quality, with a fully remote work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- 12-15+ years of apparel design experience, with significant experience in fleece, sportswear, casualwear, or comfort-driven apparel
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing and developing design teams
- Strong understanding of fleece fabrics, garment construction, fit, washes, trims, and manufacturing processes
- Proven ability to build commercially successful assortments that drive growth
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage sales data, market insights, and customer feedback to inform decisions
- Deep understanding of fashion trends, consumer behavior, and competitive market dynamics
- Excellent presentation, communication, and leadership skills
- Highly organized with exceptional project management and prioritization abilities
