Design Construction Coordinator

Job Summary

Provide technical support to Capital Projects, overseeing contractors, managing documentation, and ensuring refinery assets adhere to safety protocols, design specifications, and budgets. Coordinate equipment scheduling with operations, review CAD models for constructibility, and act as a liaison between project managers, field contractors, and operations to resolve conflicts. Support document control by responding to Requests for Information, tracking submittals, and verifying instrumentation equipment calibration and invoices. Supervise two to four nonexempt technicians as needed. Requires 10 years of petrochemical refinery experience and ability to read P&IDs. Office and field based with rotating shifts and callouts.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of petrochemical refinery or similar experience with experience in project execution and start-up and field maintenance
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, one-lines and panel schedules, loop diagrams schematics, conduit and cable schedules, plot plans, and other drawings associated with a construction work package
  • A working knowledge of problem solving techniques and field instrumentation used in the refinery or petrochemical industry including field and shop repair practices and ability to apply this knowledge
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule (e.g. rotating shifts, call outs)
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment as needed and a respirator in emergency situations (beards not permitted)
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull and/or carry up to 25 lbs
  • Must be able to climb up to 200 ft
  • Required to effectively communicate with others
  • Required to make visual inspections
  • Required to make precise hand and finger movements
  • Required to twist, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching or grasping
  • Required to perceive color differences

Desired Qualifications

  • An Associate's Degree or technical training in a related field plus 10 years experience is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and years of on the job experience with 3 years directly related to assigned equipment
  • Instrumentation calibration and equipment start-up and commissioning experience desired
