Job Summary
Derrick Hand on a 4–5-person workover rig crew responsible for rigging up/down, positioning the well service rig, and working on the derrick, including tubing board and rod basket duties. Duties include operating tubing elevators, transferring rods/tubing, lifting heavy components, setting hydraulic jacks, attaching guy wires, and assisting with rod handling. Must report safety hazards, follow Axis safety programs, and may drive the crew truck. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid driver license (CDL preferred), and 1+ year of derrick-hand/workover rig floor experience; able to work a varied rotation, in all weather, and communicate in English. On-site role located in Marmarth, ND with standard full-time hours.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or the equivalent
- valid state issued driver license
- CDL Class A or B preferred
- minimum 1 year Derrick hand experience
- at least two years of workover rig floor experience
- ability to communicate in English
- ability to travel and work varied rotational schedule
- ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- ability to access elevated/work at height
- ability to work in all weather conditions
- ability to work in a team environment
- basic problem solving and organizational skills
- reliable telephone communication and transportation
- able to clear pre-employment drug/alcohol screens
