Job Summary
Deputy Theatre Manager in Cambridge leads clinical and operational performance across the Theatre department, supporting the Theatre Manager in delivering safe, high-quality theatre services, maximising utilisation, maintaining clinical standards, and fostering strong relationships with Consultants and multidisciplinary teams. The role emphasizes visible clinical and managerial leadership, staff development, governance, risk management, and achievement of departmental KPIs and budget targets, with emphasis on perioperative practice, compliance with policies and data protection. The position involves rostering, stock management, audits, and contributing to improvement action plans within a fast-paced surgical setting, including implementation of advanced technologies such as da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a Clinical Practitioner NMC or HCPC registered in a theatre setting
- Evidence of substantial post registration continual professional development in management and other clinically related subjects
- Management, motivation and development of the clinical team
- Meeting financial and budgetary targets
- Working within a performance driven culture, while maintaining safe standards
- Experience leading clinical and operational performance in perioperative theatre environments
