Job Summary

Develop and implement state strategy for building civic participation and political power within California's Latino communities. Oversee voter-registration, voter-education, community-organizing, leadership-development, and mobilization programs while managing field operations like canvassing, phone banking, and GOTV efforts. Establish program goals, staffing plans, budgets, and accountability systems to monitor progress toward registration and organizing targets. Recruit, supervise, and coach staff; foster an inclusive, culturally responsive team culture. Collaborate with national leadership on budgeting, grant proposals, and fundraising activities. Build relationships with community leaders, coalitions, funders, and elected officials. Represent the organization at meetings and events. Use data to guide strategy and evaluate success. Work occasional evenings, weekends, and campaign-style schedules with regular travel throughout California.

Required Qualifications

  • At least five years of experience in program development, management, fundraising, community organizing, civic engagement, field operations, or candidate- or issue-based campaigns.
  • Experience managing direct voter-contact programs and field operations.
  • Experience supervising, training, coaching, and developing staff.
  • Experience developing and managing program or organizational budgets.
  • Experience supporting fundraising, grant proposals, funder relations, or grant reporting.
  • Experience building coalitions and representing an organization externally.
  • Strong understanding of the United States and California political, electoral, demographic, and policy landscapes.
  • Strong strategic-planning, program-management, fundraising, budgeting, and leadership skills.
  • Strong data-management and analytical abilities.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, VAN, EveryAction, and voter-mobilization platforms.
  • Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, presentation, and public-speaking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs, projects, deadlines, and shifting priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail, judgment, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout California.
  • Physical ability to work at a computer and operate standard office and field technology.
  • Physical ability to facilitate virtual and in-person meetings, trainings, presentations, and public events.
  • Physical ability to move throughout offices, meeting venues, event sites, field locations, and community settings.
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods during field activities.
  • Physical ability to lift or carry program and event materials weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Physical ability to travel by automobile or commercial transportation.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, extended hours, and campaign-style schedules.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with Latino communities or other historically underrepresented communities strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
