Job Summary
The Deputy Sheriff conducts investigations, serves warrants, maintains safety and security in courtrooms and jail, processes incoming inmates, and manages inmate activities. Requires high school diploma and law enforcement certification.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of experience as a law enforcement officer and Georgia P.O.S.T. certification as a law enforcement officer
- One year experience as a Detention Officer III/Jail Training Officer with DeKalb County
- Valid Georgia driver's license
- At least 21 years of age
- Pass current Georgia P.O.S.T. certification as a law enforcement officer
- Licensed and qualified to operate a firearm
- Some positions may require CDL with passenger endorsement
