Job Summary
Deputise for the Retail Manager to lead team operations, drive commercial performance, and ensure product availability within a University setting. Manage all people activities including recruitment, training, and development while building relationships with the student community and external bodies. Assist in data analysis, reporting, and presenting findings to senior management. Collaborate to innovate store offerings and maintain compliance with health and safety and equal opportunities policies. This role requires early starts, late finishes, and regular weekend work. Candidates must have FMCG management experience, a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate, and full UK driving license.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience in an FMCG management role
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
- Advanced computer skills (Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Full UK driving license
- Proven experience as a retail manager or assistant manager in the Food and Beverage sector, or as a deputy in these roles, with a minimum of 1 year's experience
- Knowledge of retail management best practices
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to foster a positive team culture
- Strong coaching skills
- Understanding of budgets and the ability to set targets for the team
- Problem-solving ability
- Capability to build trust within the store team
- Must be available for early starts and late finishes
