Job Summary
Develop and monitor project budgets and schedules to ensure timely, cost-effective completion of heavy civil and transit work. Determine labor, tools, equipment, and material needs, then review vendor invoices and oversee permit approvals and inspections. Participate in securing new work by developing project approaches, conducting interviews, and estimating. Maintain regular communication with field engineers and a part-time Superintendent to enforce safety guidelines and quality control. Report project status through meetings or written correspondence. Requires 7+ years of experience as a Project Engineer on projects valued at $5 million+, proficiency in Excel, and a valid driver's license. Travel will be required.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years related experience required with experience as a Project Engineer on heavy civil and transit work
- Exposure on projects at $5 million+ in value
- Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions
- Proficient in Excel and Office Suite
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Valid Driver's License required
- Travel will be required

- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of
- Basic competence in subordinates' duties and tasks
- Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
- Preference for those who enjoy a collaborative, team-driven work style
- Experience with a wide variety of software and platforms are not required but may help your candidacy which may include the following: Cloud-based collaborative software, Teams, Smartsheet, HeavyJob, HeavyBid, P6, Primavera Cloud, ProCore, etc..
