Job Summary
Deputy Operations Manager responsible for operational strategy and leadership to ensure effective program delivery across portfolios. Oversees SPM and Project Managers/Coordinators to ensure delivery aligned with plans, budgets, timelines, and quality standards; manages accountability, performance management, cross-functional coordination, and procurement planning. Provides coaching and development for leadership teams, addresses staff performance, and mitigates operational risks while ensuring compliance with donor requirements and safeguarding standards. Plays a key role in emergency preparedness and response, ensuring timely and coordinated delivery, and embodies Christian leadership and organizational values in day-to-day operations.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in program or project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and report writing
- At least 6 years of experience in a managerial position of operations in INGOs
- Leadership experience is preferable
- Experience in Emergency response
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in development, social science, project management or similar
- Excellent written and verbal communication (English fluency required)
- Relational skills in cross-cultural environments
- Strong planning, organizational and project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to monitor and evaluate theory, processes, and systems
- Ability to work with national staff and capacity-building focus
- Strong work ethic with autonomous work style yet collaborative team player
- High computer literacy (MS Office, databases, internet research)
- Ability to use AI
- Proactive problem solving and stakeholder networking
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to give and receive feedback to improve performance
- Commitment to safeguarding policies and responsibilities
