Job Summary
Responsible for providing security for the Municipal Court Building and other City Buildings, serving as a bailiff in the Courtroom, and executing warrants and processes of the Municipal Court. Essential functions include monitoring building security, processing court documents, enforcing parking ordinances, and preparing reports related to law violations. Candidates must possess Texas peace officer certification and a strong understanding of relevant state laws and ordinances. The role requires effective communication skills and the ability to use defensive weapons.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Texas Intermediate Peace Officer Proficiency Certificate
- 4+ years experience as a full-time Texas Peace Officer with no more than 180 day break in service
- TCOLE Peace Officer License required
- Valid Class C Texas driver's license
- Texas Intermediate, Advanced, or Master Peace Officer certification required
Desired Qualifications
- Some college course work
- 7+ years law enforcement experience from an agency that employed at least 50 sworn officers
