Job Summary
Create an environment that supports the individual needs of all children while maintaining systems to monitor, evaluate, and improve the quality of childcare practices. Maintain effective communication with children, staff, parents, and carers, and ensure nursery provision meets Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements. Assume playroom and additional management responsibilities as needed, assist in reviewing individual staff targets, and keep costs within agreed budgets. This one-year maternity cover role involves working within a supportive team that follows a child-led approach, utilizing daily outdoor play and secure garden spaces to encourage exploration.
Required Qualifications
- Enhanced DBS check
- Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) knowledge
- Experience in childcare
- Management experience
- Budget management skills
- Communication skills with children, staff, parents, and carers
- Ability to maintain systems to monitor, evaluate and improve quality of childcare practices
- Ability to maintain effective methods of communication
- Ability to maintain open and positive working relationships with staff
- Ability to agree and review individual targets with staff
