Job Summary
Deputy Manager for a two-bed children’s residential home in Blackpool. You’ll work closely with the Registered Manager to provide strong leadership, ensure safeguarding and high-quality care for children under 11, participate in service development, develop pathways for progression to Registered Manager, and access funded Level 5 qualifications. The role emphasizes people management, budgeting and rostering, flexible shifts including sleep-ins, a comprehensive induction, and supportive benefits (pension, annual leave, DBS check). Successful candidates will have at least 3 years’ experience in children’s residential care, NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Workforce or above, knowledge of Ofsted requirements, a full UK driving licence, and a proactive, hands-on leadership style. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in children’s residential care
- NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Workforce or above
- Knowledge of Ofsted legislation and safeguarding procedures
- Proactive, driven, and enthusiastic attitude
- Strong people management skills with a hands-on approach
- Experience managing budgets and staff rotas
- Full UK driving licence (Essential)
- Flexibility to work shifts and sleep-ins as needed
