Job Summary
Define and implement standardized automation architecture across the facility, including PLC platforms, I/O configurations, communication protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP), and software frameworks. Lead the integration of equipment and systems into centralized SCADA/DCS platforms for interoperability and scalability. Develop and enforce automation standards for new equipment and systems to ensure consistency and future-proofing. Identify, evaluate, and onboard automation vendors and system integrators; drive technical discussions to align with centralized architecture and ensure vendor performance during design, commissioning, and qualification. Champion touchless operations through robotics, AGVs, and smart sensors; lead automation initiatives in pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging to reduce manual interventions and enhance compliance; integrate robotics with MES, SCADA, and ERP. Draft and review URS with a focus on automation readiness and centralized system integration; ensure equipment compatibility with automation standards and digital infrastructure adhering to international automation standards. Establish data acquisition and historian systems for real-time monitoring and analytics; develop dashboards and KPIs; drive predictive maintenance and process optimization in collaboration with Data Scientist and Lead Industry 4.0. Oversee installation, commissioning, and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) within timelines, budget, and regulatory frameworks. Ensure automation systems comply with USFDA, EU GMP, and ISO standards; maintain documentation including validation protocols, SOPs, and audit trails. Drive continuous improvement and innovation, staying abreast of technologies in automation, robotics, and pharma manufacturing and fostering cross-team collaboration.
