Job Summary
Deputy Site Leader at a water/wastewater facility in Norwalk, CT supports the Site Leader in managing day-to-day operations, safety, compliance, and process improvements. Responsibilities include promoting a safety-first culture, ensuring quality and reliability of operations, coaching and mentoring team members (typically under 10 FTEs), coordinating with clients and stakeholders, overseeing contract execution, driving operational efficiency, and stepping in for the Site Leader when needed to maintain continuity. Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, knowledge of water/wastewater treatment processes, ability to read technical drawings, and a track record of leadership. Strong preference for Connecticut wastewater operator certification and a background in operations within water treatment or related facilities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field strongly preferred but not required
- 3 years of leadership experience, 2 of which in a supervisory or lead role
- Connecticut Class III or Class IV Wastewater Operator Certification strongly preferred
