Deputy Lead - Nuclear Safety Management System Assurance

Job Summary
Lead the execution and governance for Nuclear Safety Management System (NSMS) programmes, driving policy, processes and artefacts across multiple functions; develop assurance methodologies, audit frameworks and compliance tools; manage schedules, risks, and reporting; support regulatory engagement and responses to compliance requirements; provide leadership to project teams while promoting a strong nuclear safety culture and governance practices. Applicants should have a degree in Engineering/Science/Quality/Governance or related discipline, 10–15 years in nuclear or other safety-critical industries, and experience implementing management systems and audit/assurance activities; Chartered status or formal training in audit and assurance is highly regarded. The role involves hybrid work options and relocation to Adelaide, Australia.
Required Qualifications
- Degree qualification in Engineering, Science, Risk, Quality, Governance, Business Management or a related discipline
- 10–15 years' experience within nuclear, defence or other safety-critical and highly regulated industries
- Demonstrated experience implementing management systems, governance frameworks or assurance programmes
- Experience in audit, compliance, assurance or regulatory environments, including the development of policies and procedures
- Strong understanding of nuclear safety principles and familiarity with IAEA, WANO, INPO, ISO 9001 and ISO 19443 frameworks
- Proven programme coordination, stakeholder management and process improvement experience within complex organisations
- Chartered status, recognised SQEP capability or formal training in audit and assurance methodologies will be highly regarded
