Job Summary
Advise Stifel's growing banks and trust companies on deposits, treasury management, commercial lending, and contracts while conducting due diligence, workouts, and dispute resolution. Draft, review, and negotiate banking products and business initiatives, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Identify, assess, and advise on legal and regulatory risks while monitoring the evolving legal landscape. This role requires 5–9 years of experience supporting regulated financial institutions and involves working with compliance professionals to protect client and firm interests.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in supporting regulated banks and their lending activities
- Strong knowledge of federal and state banking laws and regulations applicable to regulated financial institutions
- Significant firm or in-house experience supporting commercial banks and other regulated financial institutions
- Demonstrated expertise with the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and secured credits
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to a state bar in good standing
- 5 – 9 years of experience practicing law, primarily in or for banking institutions or other regulated financial institutions
