Job Summary
Advise Stifel's banks and trust companies on deposits, treasury management, commercial lending, and banking contracts. Conduct due diligence, workouts, and disputes while drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements under relevant regulatory requirements. Identify and assess legal and regulatory risks, monitor the regulatory landscape, and support distressed credit matters within an established team. Requires 5–9 years of banking law experience, a J.D. degree, and admission to a state bar. Salary ranges from $200,000 to $275,000 annually.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in supporting regulated banks and their lending activities
- Strong knowledge of federal and state banking laws and regulations applicable to regulated financial institutions
- Significant firm or in-house experience supporting commercial banks and other regulated financial institutions
- Demonstrated expertise with the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and secured credits
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to a state bar in good standing
- 5 – 9 years of experience practicing law, primarily in or for banking institutions or other regulated financial institutions
