Job Summary
Deputy Editor responsible for agenda-setting coverage of global banking regulation and risk management for The Banker (Financial Times). Lead in cultivating senior regulatory sources, delivering exclusive reporting, interviews and forward-looking analysis for a global audience. Shape coverage priorities, contribute to Regulatory and Provision Tracker products, pitch and deliver original journalism (3–4 stories per week), edit and commission pieces, and contribute to multimedia output (podcasts, video). Collaborate across The Banker and Regulatory Tracker, represent The Banker at industry events, and develop newsletter content while tracking emerging risk trends and regulatory themes. Hybrid role with onsite 50% time; flexible working options available.
Required Qualifications
- Strong track record in financial or regulatory journalism
- Proven ability to secure exclusive interviews
- Ability to build and maintain senior sources in regulators and financial institutions
- Experience editing and contributing to newsletters and subscription products
- Experience with multimedia storytelling (podcasts, video)
- Excellent writing and editing skills
