Job Summary
Deputy Director, Technical and Scientific Services leads divisional technical strategy, quality, compliance, budgets, and documentation across science and health programs; manages managers and staff; drives stakeholder engagement, external partnerships, and data-driven decision making; oversees risk management, regulatory alignment, and continuous improvement; emphasizes technical writing, process documentation, and collaboration tools; supports growth opportunities through cross-disciplinary project leadership and analytics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in field of study relevant to projects supported or relevant fields
- 9+ years relevant experience
- 4+ years of project management experience, at least two of which in government consulting
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- 2+ years of leading cross-disciplinary projects in government consulting
- Advanced experience with project management in areas including project planning, timelines, resourcing, risk management, and task management
- Intermediate experience with project management software such as Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Project, Asana and Smartsheet
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, including delegating work, coaching staff, and driving accountability and performance outcomes
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively across diverse audiences and situations
- Proven experience managing projects and programs, ensuring timely delivery, quality outcomes, and alignment with organizational objectives
- Strong problem-solving skills, including identifying issues, navigating complex challenges, and implementing effective, data-driven solutions
- Experience driving continuous improvement and innovation by optimizing processes, incorporating feedback, and adapting to evolving priorities
