Job Summary
Deputy Director leads Proforest’s Responsible Sourcing & Production portfolio in Southeast Asia, overseeing high-impact projects with companies, financial institutions and partners, guiding portfolio planning, budgets, and delivery quality, while building relationships with clients, donors and strategic partners, and driving innovation and growth in services and thought leadership. The role requires strategic leadership, strong commercial awareness, and a proven track record in sustainable supply chains, agriculture/forestry commodities and/or responsible finance, along with excellent English and willingness to travel. A collaborative, high-performing team environment and representation at regional/international events are key components of this role.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in sustainable supply chains, agriculture, forestry and/or responsible finance
- Leadership experience leading multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong commercial acumen and client relationship management
- Track record delivering consultancy or sustainability initiatives in agriculture/forestry commodities
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Willingness to travel for field work, training, stakeholder engagement and meetings
- Practical field experience in agriculture/forestry or landscape programmes
- Additional language skills (Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin, Thai) would be an advantage
