Job Summary
Deputy Director, Outreach & Services for the NYC Department for the Aging. Lead coordinated outreach to under-served and hard-to-reach older adults to connect them with home-based services and supports; promote best practices across home-based service providers to ensure high-quality, standards-aligned care; build collaborations with hospitals, clinics, faith-based groups, and community organizations to enhance referrals and service coordination; represent NYC Aging at events, conduct outreach and recruit volunteers for friendly visiting programs; oversee distribution of promotional materials; guide providers in optimizing operations via targeted technical assistance, site visits, and coaching; develop and maintain a centralized library of best practices to support staff development; coordinate with Program Officers to ensure up-to-date guidance; respond to unmet needs in underutilized communities and expand access to home-based services; liaise between case management, home care, and friendly visiting providers and NYC Aging units to strengthen collaboration and referral pathways; manage and track incoming program referrals and contribute to new resources and initiatives; participate in RFP reviews and agency-wide initiatives; exercise independent judgment in advancing strategic outreach, quality improvement, and provider performance.
Required Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and four years of progressively responsible experience, including one year at the administrative or managerial level in a large governmental agency, business firm, civic or community organization operating in the area of social services; or
- Education and/or experience equivalent to the above. However, all candidates must have a baccalaureate degree and the one year of administrative/managerial experience as described.
