Job Summary
Deputy Director of Owned Platforms for NBC News Digital, leading the evening shift across homepage, app, alerts, social, and newsletters; manages platform editors, real-time editorial decisions, coordinates with the London team, develops platform strategy, oversees the Morning Rundown, writes/edits copy, and aims to grow the evening audience. Requires a manager who coaches and elevates direct reports, with strong editorial judgment and cross-platform distribution expertise. Hybrid role based in Los Angeles, five days a week starting at 11:30 a.m. PT. Salary $110,000-$130,000 and eligible for company benefits.
Required Qualifications
- 8 years in a digital newsroom
- Experience using newsroom tools such as Chartbeat, Parse.ly, Google Trends, Google Analytics, Taboola Newsroom and SocialFlow
- Experience writing for different audiences and an understanding that not all stories will be successful on every platform, but appropriate framing for different spaces can make all the difference
