Deputy Director of Institutional Giving

Job Summary
Lead the day-to-day operation and growth of the institutional giving program for EnviroVoters and the Ed Fund, managing grant staff and consultants while overseeing hiring, coaching, and performance development. Own a portfolio of high-priority institutional funders, driving cultivation, solicitation, negotiation, and stewardship through independent meetings, pitches, and site visits. Set portfolio assignments, workflows, and quality standards across proposals, reports, and stewardship activities, ensuring compliance with organizational values and lobbying restrictions. Drive annual grant strategy and revenue planning, expanding the funder pipeline by identifying and cultivating new institutional prospects. Oversee production of multi-year and one-year proposals, project manage complex cross-departmental proposal development, and ensure funding agreements are finalized and paid on schedule. Support the Director in annual budgeting, revenue forecasting, and monthly reporting while working proactively with program, policy, and finance staff to meet all fiscal requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Seven or more years of institutional fundraising experience in a nonprofit environment
- demonstrated success securing and renewing five- and six-figure grants
- Two or more years of staff management experience
- track record of coaching and developing fundraising or grants professionals
- Expertise in cultivating and stewarding external funder relationships
- leading solicitations and negotiations independently
- Working knowledge of 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) fundraising distinctions
- demonstrated ability to learn and apply them quickly
- Deep understanding of the full grant lifecycle
- ability to edit and elevate the work of others
- Ability to manage multiple proposals, deadlines, staff, and stakeholders simultaneously under pressure
- Skilled in persuasive written and oral communication

- experience with Raiser's Edge/RENXT or similar CRM
Desired Qualifications
- Experience fundraising for advocacy, electoral, or 501(c)(4) organizations
- Familiarity with Community Centric Fundraising principles
- Experience with project management tools such as Asana
- Background in environmental policy, political science, communications, nonprofit management, public administration, or a related field
