Job Summary
Audit, review, and approve Construction, Expense, and Construction-Related Payments for DEP's operating Bureaus to ensure compliance with City Charter, Comptroller's Directives, and PPB Rules. Conduct desk and field inspections to verify work quality and progress for major capital projects, certifying the fairness of contract changes and reimbursable costs. Supervise Assistant Deputy Directors, auditors, engineers, and accountants while resolving complex auditing problems and developing long-range policy for contract compliance. Interface with owners, partners, and consulting firms to streamline payments and prevent future disputes, providing clear direction to a multi-disciplined staff. Represent the Agency before the NYC Comptroller's Office regarding dispute resolutions and delay claims.
Required Qualifications
- Permanent civil service status as Administrative Engineer
- Valid New York State License as a Professional Engineer
- Six (6) years of full-time satisfactory experience in chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, or plan examining work
- At least two (2) years of experience in an executive, managerial, or administrative capacity
