Job Summary
Deputy Director of the Capital Improvement Program within the City of San José Public Works. The role encompasses leadership of two CIP Deputy Directors, with primary responsibilities focused on capital delivery across multiple divisions. One position oversees Electrical Engineering, Storm and Sanitary Engineering, Roads and Bridges, Storm and Sanitary Master Planning, and construction management at the San Jose-Santa Clara Regional Water Facility; the other focuses on oversight of the $650 million Measure T bond projects and the design and construction of city facilities including the airport, parks, libraries, and other city buildings. Strong engineering background, program management experience in a public or large-scale organization, and a Professional Engineer license are required.
Required Qualifications
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (State of California)
- Advanced course work from an accredited college or university in engineering or related field
- Six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in senior level administrative and/or analytic work in a public or private agency
